26.5 Kilometers

26.5 Kilometers; that's how far I rode m SV yesterday between getting pulled over by der got verdammten Polizei. I had just filled up at the local petrol outlet so I reset my trip odometer. I'm riding up a hill to turn onto one of my favorite roads doing what I thought to be a very fair thirty kilometers over the posted limit. As soon as I crested the hill I notice not only two Police cars behind some bushes in what is a usual spot for them to hide, but an unmarked Police truck right beside me with the driver just glaring at me. The two fellows wave me over. I pull over like the nice person I am. I turned off my bike and flipped up my visor. The jolly looking officer comes running up to me, and merely asks to see if I have a class 6 (motorcycle). I gladly whip it (the license) out and show it to him. He asked how I liked that thing and then answered for me “good as long as it doesn't get you any tickets”. That's about right I said and I was on my way. I've always had some lack of luck with the Polis but that sure made my day.
So I went on to ride on my favorite road and I come around a corner at a decent 105 only to be greeted by another Police car. I hammer the brakes as he turns on his fancy flashing lights, clearly not able to get out of the car on his own power, he waves me over. I pull up beside him and lift my visor. This time I thought for sure I was in for it. “Slow down ok?” He said, as he drove off. Still in shock about the first one, I went and sat down on the side of the road for about 15 minutes to let the adrenaline subside. I got back on my bike, the trip odometer read 26.5KM, I thought that was enough for one day so I rode my lucky ass home.
